This is a nice hotel in a great location. It is a bit more geared toward conferences than family trips, although it would be fine for either. Two things kept it from being great, check in and parking. I've heard many a speach from front desk staff at check in explaining where things are and giving general information, this staff offered nothing really. They collected extra fees and handed out key but that was it. Given the hotel has a kind of disconnected layout this was a bit frustrating. They were polite don't get me wrong, just not very helpful. The other let down was parking, be advised if you self park the lot is connected to the hotel in the same fashion that New York is technically connected to Los Angeles. It is also an expensive privilege you will be charged for to park in, the inconvenience is free though. Those two things set the tone for our arrival day, which was one of frustration. The rest of the stay was much more pleasant once we learned where things were and got settled. Hopefully the front desk staff was just new and will improve, again they were nice enough. The parking situation would require much more work to fix. I wouldn't rule out a future stay but that lot is enough to make me check other options for sure.

The property itself is beautiful. Our room was very clean. Loved having direct access to the beach, state park, and restaurants/bar. Staff was very friendly with check in and out, and with any questions we had. Would highly recommend staying here.

Love this place, but the food at the outdoor grill was disappointing this trip.

The location is excellent, the amenities are outstanding! Highly recommend.

The views from this property are outstanding. The bar and pool are easy to access. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable with a beach feel and nice decor. The indoor common areas were quite cold - the main area where you check in, the breakfast restaurant and the bottom floor of the guest rooms.

Loved it and will be back !

We loved the location. It’s right on the beach. Close to a lot of things. You have to pay for parking. The parking isn’t close. I would hate it in the rain. I felt like I was paying the Lodge to get my steps in for the day. I don’t mind walking but parking should be included in the price you pay to stay.

Our family loves The Lodge! It’s our go to resort when we need a quick getaway to the beach!

As great place to stay and will go back in the future.

Great experience. We have stayed here each of the last 3 years and always leave wanting to return. Our room faced the gulf which we enjoyed. The cleaning staff did a great job. We enjoyed eating at the onsite restaurants. Food was very good.

My only complaint is that there was a lack of communication from the front desk staff and concierge service. We weren’t told about any amenities or given a tour of this large property when we checked in. We had to find things out on our own or by asking other guests. Just seemed to need a little more training at the front desk department. It is a beautiful complex, well maintained and surrounded by family friendly things to do. We will definitely try to come back and bring more family!

Had an amazing view of the ocean. Was located in the state park which also offered many activities. Location was perfect between Orange Beach and downtown Gulf Shores. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were not aware that parking was not included in the charge and was an extra daily fee.

Loved the view of the Gulf. The onsite restaurants and bars were wonderful. Staff was professional and courteous. The facility is environmentally friendly and LEED Gold! Highly recommend it!

It was more than we expected, just a fantastic resort. We will be coming back.

The staff were completely rude, starting at check-in. I walked up to the lobby desk, there was no smile, no greeting, no thank you for being here. I received a short, "photo ID" demand. My first request to fix my safe were ignored and after I requested again, I was told they would get to me when they would have time. We ordered at the on-site restaurant, the Dragonfly, the waitress got our order wrong, no apology, just rolled her eyes in irritation. My husband was literally yelled at by a bell boy for taking a luggage cart when we were checking out. There was no hospitality offered at this place, and every little situation seemed small until it became a pattern. Would not recommend. I feel this is very unusual for a Hilton property

This property has everything you need. We really enjoyed the pools & the convenient beach access. If you want to go to different restaurants off of the property, you will need to Lyft or rent a car. Loved the coffee shop & tiki bar on site!
